On February 24, 2006. Tiny was in her playpen playing with
her puppies, When I carefully took her out to the run for a pee. When I
returned with her and put her in playpen she let a yelp out, I thought I
may have been holding on to her funny.

The next morning when we realized there was something much more serious
going on, Tiny was rushed to the vet, actually 2 different vets, and they
advised I go to the emergency clinic in which we did. They all said the same
thing they couldn’t figure it out, that perhaps it was milk fever. So they
all suggested that we take her to the Ontario Veterinary College at Guelph.
We raced to Guelph in a panic. Tiny stayed there for a week. I called every
day to check on our little angel, as we were so upset.
So a few days later they asked us to come to visit Tiny. Then they broke
the bad news to us that they couldn’t do anything for her, they told us
take her home and if she is no better in 10 days then bring her back they
would euthanatize her as we should be concerned of her quality of life.
I said ‘no way I will work on her till she does get better’.
I should mention that her legs went stiff as a board straight out she could
not move. She was paralyzed. She could not eat, or drink on her own she
couldn’t have a bowel movement without our help, it was awful.
It was a lot of hard work but it was all worth it as my little Tiny is
not only bending her legs she is walking and running. Something we were
told would never happen past 10 days.
She was later diagnosed with a small vertebrae. Something she was born
with, and that it was only a matter of time until the spinal cord would
hit it. Through meds and Glucosamine, that she will have to take for the
rest of her life. Tiny shows improvement every day.
Thank You God and Thank You Tiny for having the
will to live.
Love Mommy and Daddy and Brianna.
